Event Type: Virtual Presentation - Online
Location: Startup Expo 2022

In this presentation, I address the most important points that an entrepreneur needs to provide to investors before talking about the big picture. Only once you have done that should you speak about the potential which is TAM, SAM, SOM. Far too often the pitch misses the basic information and jumps directly into the BIG PICTURE with the BIG INVESTMENT SUM they are looking for. RESULT: If the investor can't workout what they can earn from this investment, you can't get them interested in your project.

Fuck Up Nights Malaga- The entrepreneurial journey of a startup

Event Type: Motivational speech - Presential
Location: Fuck Up Nights - Malaga
Date: 7 June 2022

Description: What you often hear about is the success stories of startups, their huge funding rounds, exits and IPOs. What you don't hear about is the hundreds of thousands and failures that lie in between. What you don't hear is the hardship of getting from zero to the first and then even the next round.

In this short speech, I spoke about my years at Urbytus. The problems I encountered and how I managed to turn things round. Success is not always a multi million exit but it is how you turn to face failure and are able to turn things around for the better. Every step is a step in the right direction.

Key aspects of clear communication

Event Type: Workshop presenter
Location: Cadiz University Startup event - Online

As an entpreneur it is important that you learn as early as possible to identify your listener and make sure what you say is what they want to hear. Understanding your audience is one of the key aspects of communication. Investors are not the same as consumers and consumers are not the same as your brand ambassadors. Making sure you address the right questions and cover the right topics is the difference between getting listeners and finding followers or not. In this workshop I cover the different key aspects of how you should go about building your speech or presentation and how to address your audience's key questions.

In this workshop we review the difference between a pitchdeck that is made for emailing and the pitchdeck that is supposed to your supporting background image while you pitch. We work on how to start, what to present and focus on what the investors want to hear. The difference between reading off your pitch deck than telling a coherent story that makes sense to investor is the difference between you getting funded or not.

Far too often I hear that children are brought up with the pressure of listening to and following what their parents think is best for them. I have been through it and I beleive that children should be allowed to follow their passion, play and explore the wonders of the world until they find their purpose. My career speech is not based on telling students what they should study or what type of work they should go for, rather I speak about how they should follow their heart and let the heart guide them find their purpose in life.

Mutation: Random or intelligentally programmed

Event Type: Guest Speaker - Presential
Location: Gaudelmina Rotary Club - @Halcones Restaurant (Online)
Date: 13 Jan 2022

Description:As guest speaker, I present an intellectually intriguing speech and present a different perspective to what we have been told about evolution and mutation. Historically mutation has been described and understood as a random process. However a closer look with some examples can reveal that if mutation was just simple changes without intention the end result would have been devastating. Mutation in fact is an intentional and carefully planned changes that require deep understanding of the code, function and purpose. Such changes are made through observation and understanding.

I provide multiple examples of how code change over the years has allowed animals to achieve what we humans have forgotten and just name as evolution to avoid the complexity of understanding it. This speech is just to provide members with a different perspective and a reminder that nature and evolution is not just happening by chance.

However as toastmasters often we find ourselves looking for that ultimate speech to achieve the latter and we try and we rattle.

In this workshop, I start with numerous examples of speakers who are not necessarily excellent public speaker, but who have in the course of following their passion become sought after public speakers. The key ingredient that is in common to all or most of these speakers is that they have fought for their passion. Often we find ourselves bugged down with daily routines and locked into situations where our passions are side-lined and neglected. Tackling this issue is something that we all battle and to find one’s true passion and follow it, is one path to finding the way to that unique speech that allows you to speak from heart.
